Cherries, essentially a high-quality commercial fruit, have achieved remarkable success in markets such as China, Chile, New Zealand, and North America due to their excellent appearance, crisp and sweet taste, and off-season supply advantages. However, factors such as climate, rainfall, and cultivation techniques have led to consistently high rates of fruit cracking. In 2025, cherry planting areas in Shaanxi, China, will reach approximately 30,000 hectares. The persistent issue of fruit cracking has been troubling local growers and affecting their economic returns. In this region, ULTRALGAE® has demonstrated excellent effectiveness over years of verification in preventing fruit cracking and improving cherry quality.
CITYMax biological assessment personnel conducted full-process tracking of a local grower's operations. Three drip irrigations were applied starting from the young fruit expansion stage of cherries, with intervals of 7 days between applications, continuing until the harvest of the cherries. Observations showed that the fruits expanded rapidly with uniform consistency, bright and clean surfaces, significantly reduced fruit cracking rates, and substantially improved marketable rates. This approach has delivered considerable economic benefits to the growers.
